I'm Luis Yupanqui. Short version: web apps → AI obsession → existential crisis → came back sharper.
Longer version. Five years building other people's systems: FITCO (TechStars-backed fitness SaaS), then Roma (an education platform), then Deepview, where I re-architected the backend to process over 4 billion images a year on Kubernetes with real-time ML inference. Solid work. Someone else's story.
Somewhere in there, AI stopped being a tool I used and became the thing happening to me — to my craft, my plans, everyone's plans. That was the crisis. I came out of it with two convictions: I'm only alive in my own work, and the biggest transition of our lifetime deserves a chronicler from this side of the world. Five hundred years ago, when one world ended and another began, the people who wrote it down from the inside were in Cusco. It's happening again. So I went all in.
Receipts
The best known is Symbiotic AI (731+ stars on GitHub), a personal AI that learns your psychology across sessions. So Long Sucker is AI deception research built on John Nash's betrayal game — 605 human-vs-AI games, and the finding that AI manipulation strategies that dominate other AIs lose to humans 88.4% of the time. It hit the Hacker News frontpage and got picked up by Gigazine in Japan.
There's also an infinite canvas for VS Code, TermCanvas for steering fleets of coding agents, a creative studio where agents work on your canvas, and a voice assistant on $10 of ESP32 hardware. Range runs from embedded C++ to cloud APIs to full-stack apps. The tools I still use get their own entries in herramientas.
Where this goes
Long-term I'm building toward human-AI symbiosis: systems that help people think more clearly and operate with more leverage. Agent architectures, AI behavior, useful systems that matter outside a demo. This crónica is the lab notebook of that work — live, in public, from Cusco.
I also write parody songs about the AI race at 2am. They're in música. I talk in prototypes, not slide decks.
